The son of an Enniskillen doctor, Gore went to Trinity College, Dublin, in 1897 to study medicine. After graduating he went to London to study painting under Henry Tonks at The Slade School Of Art. He continued for a while practicing medicine but painting was his first love. He shared a studio with Sir William Orpen and Augustus John. A regular exhibitor at the RHA, he was particularly fond of flower paintings. He is represented in numerous civic collections.
