Executedin June or July 1942 when Paul Henry and Mabel Young holidayed in Connemara. The fresh palette of the present workcombined with the fluid handling where the paint is worked directly to the canvas with little or no over painting, is characteristic of the artists mature style and within a year or two of this picture being painted, Henry suffered an illness which resulted in near blindness and signalledthe end of his painting career.

In the event of a tied bid, the preference will be given to the bid submitted first. The second bidder will receive immediate notification of being outbid.
