Crozier's lifelong love affair with Ireland deepened in 1973 with his adoption of Irish citizenship. The purchase of a home in West Cork in 1983 heralded a new and highly productive period as he assimilated and interpreted this distinctive Irish landscape.
The colouration of Night Road indicated how closely aligned Crozier was to his contemporary European Neo Expressionists, taking his lead from an interpretative discourse with his subject matter rather than an abstraction of it. The resultant images, both potent and immensely accessible stand as amongst the most iconic images of the Irish landscape in the post war era.
