Bidding on any lots for the Summer Art & Design Auction is very simple. In order to do so you must first register an account with This involves providing credit card details for authorisation. No money is taken from the card and all accounts are settled through the de Veres office. We accept a cheque, debit/credit card or a bank transfer.

Once an account has been set up you can register for this auction and then leave any bids you wish on particular lots. This is a timed auction, with bidding closing from 6pm on Tuesday 21st July. Lot 1 will close at 6pm and each subsequent lot will close at 30 second intervals from then. In the event that a bid is lodged close to the closing time then the bid time will be extended by 30 seconds, in order to let other bidders respond.

Bids can only advance if there is competition on that lot. If an item has an auction estimate of €1,000-1,500 and you left a bid of €2,000 then the bidding will open at the opening price (in this instance €1,000). It will only increase if another bid comes in, then the system will bid on your behalf, but only up to the maximum bid you left. It will endeavour to buy the lot at the lowest price possible. Your maximum bid level is not disclosed to anyone else. If you have been outbid on a lot you will receive an email.

If you have any queries on the bidding procedure please contact our office. We will be happy to talk you through the process and can also accept absentee bids.
