It’s always nice to come across fresh pictures, particularly ones of real quality. It really does give you a lift and I got a great call last week to a house in Churchtown, where I was invited to value a collection put together by a collector with a very good eye. Evie Hones, a Mainie Jellet, Yeats sketches and a wonderful oil by English artist Stanley Royle will all now be included in our auction on March 27th. The famous 'Goose Girl' painting by William Leech that hangs in the National Gallery and for years one of the most popular paintings in the Gallery, was subsequently discovered to have been painted by Stanley Royle. All the 20 works in this nice collection are as fresh as the day they were painted and retain their original frames. Auctioneers gold!
